5'7 unless you're still growing (around 14). You're too short. Unless you go into commercial or parts modeling. |

For New York fashion agencies, if you're around 14 years old, 5'7" is about the minimum to get signed, but you won't get much work until you grow a bit (or go to Japan).
If you're closer to 17/18 years old, you'll need to be 5'8" (they'll probably write 5'9" on your comp card and hope no one notices) minimum for fashion runway work.
6'2" is really the maximum for women on the runway. One of my favorite models, Dasha (see two of her rough test pics below), is 6'3" and actually too tall. She is fantastic for pictures though.
It's a brutal standard, but basically you have to (1) be tall enough to be seen over peoples heads from the back row seats at a fashion show and (2) you have to fit the samples.

No, I'm not a booker, I'm a photographer who works with a lot of new models.
What doesn't show she is 6'4"? I said she is 6'3".
She didn't get a job. More than one top 10 agency said she was too tall for runway.
Tiiu Kuik is 6'0" according to this site and 5'11" according to Major's. I haven't met her so I don't know which is right if either is. I don't know what that has to do with being too tall. |

yes, the pics you posted don't show she is 6"3 (sorry )
maybe she would get a job with small agencies .. because i also think it's beautifull, i mean it's not common , that's something to use to make unique pics.
love your avatar charles and sorry for the 6"4 (i must have anticipated )
as for tiiu kuik, i 've always read ( on the fashion spot forums) that she was taller, and she really do look tall on pics. She has such a gorgeous face though , maybe that's why |

In my opinion there really is no minimal height. Of course there are factors that might hurt your chances if you are a less than a certain height but nothing is set in stone. I wouldn't advise someone who is 5'2" to go to New York and try to get signed but there are definately loop holes. For example, if you are 5'6"/5'7 you could still be signed if you have the look. You may never do runway but there's still potential in other markets. When agencies post that they absolutely will not take anyone under 5'8/5'9..in actuality they mean that they don't want 50 girls who are 5'4 showing up at their casting calls waiting to be signed. It makes it easier to weed out people right from the beginning by telling them not to even bother showing up because you are too short. But height is also notoriously lied about by agencies..so when a girl is listed as 5'8 she could be 5'8, 5'7, 5'6.5, 5'6. I know a few people who are examples of this and are with top agencies. Moral of the story, height is not as important as it's made out to be. If you have the right looks under the right cicumstances, you will be picked up. |

^ i think you are a bit short for modelling but that's not bad.. (and i agree with dria and it depends whether you have already boobs and hips and you have ( what do you say in english) .. menstruation (sexual transformation).
Because if not it means you should grow a lot |
