Is there anyway I can undo a vote? I accidentally hit "model vote" before selecting a number.
Now somebody I wanted to be and 8 is a 1. |

I wouldn't worry much about it since someone is continuously sabotaging the votes and rating all models with the lowest score and rating Barbara Stoyanoff with the maximum score in order to keep her the "Best rated model" all the time. If *any* model rates higher than her at any time this individual will attribute her the lowest score as many times as necessary to make her score lower than Barbara's. He/She either does this by *hacking* into the system by way of being able to issue multiple votes to a model OR makes a new registration in order to be able to vote again. I believe the latter to be the case due to the steady increase in members ...
I hope that, eventually this individual will loose interest and give up on this silly game and let the models have real, un-manipulated ratings. [V]
So regardless of the score you attributed to the model it won't make any diference because she'll always rate lower than Barbara. |

hi zyana,
i looked in the database if anyone does manipulate the voting results. The database is ok, nobody can/has count more than 10 points, and nobody has with his username voted a model more than one time.
i think also, that somebody registering many usernames, to vote the models more times than one.
for this case i can not much do. we can put a rule, that members can vote models, when
- the username more than 2 weeks avaible, and the visit time > 3 times.
here is the voting statitic vor barbara:
voting number_of_votes
10 39
9 1
8 3
7 5
6 1
5 1
4 2
3 3
2 1
1 17
hope to hear your suggestion for this case.
sorry for my bad english |

I think we should trial out the rule of: New "Username" can only vote after one week and 5 visits.
This way, after one week, we can check and see whether the models scores have changed somewhat and whether B. Stoyanof is no longer nÂș1 all time. I believe this measure would dissuade this individual from creating new Usernames every time Barbara is not the "Best Rated Model" so that he can use that new Username to give Barbara max score and all the others min score.
Maybe it won't solve the problem but It would create much more difficulty for him/her to keep this situation going and specially more tiresome. After a while and if things get back on track we can remove this restriction and hopefully he/she would have grown tired of this foolishness! |

ok, i found
1 ip which has 26 usernames, and 1600 votes
1 ip wich has ~10 usernames
i deleted the usernames, the votes from this usernames. so we lost ~4000 votes. i hope now the values of the models are right. please check the new status. |

Good job Markus!!
I had been keeping an eye-out for the IPs of this person (I had been keeping a list of possible IPs to ban whenever I was online but making an experiment with the new models I added and giving them all 10 so that they rated above B. Stoyanof and then waited to see when they all became 5.5 in score - which means he/she had attributed only 1 to these models - and B. Stoyanof became the Best Rated model again. I wrote down the IP of the only registered user at that time - He/she had registered that same day so I knew I probably had the right guy/girl ...)
If I knew you could see which IP's have multiple usernames I wouldn't have bothered!! Silly me! [:p]
FMD backoffice is truly powerful!!
I think all will be well now! |

hi zyana,
i can give you all types of statistics, with models/votes/members.
if you need a statistical overview about a mix of these types i will give it to you.
we have little statement problems with the top/flopmodels, but i hope in the next time that will be fixed.
hope to hear, if you need some statistical infos, or need some client infos about access on FMD [8D] |

Hi guys,
It's a very interesting post this, about the vote rigging, I'm glad that it looks like you have resolved the issue and hopefully can prevent it happening again. Am I right in thinking that when you introduce a new model and she gains only a single vote, but it happens to be a 10, then her average/mean rating would be 10 and would put her at No. 1 ? Or am I being a bit naive here? |
