Role Models

Ok. After reading countless magazines stating that models and the whole fashion industry are a terrible influence for young girls, I wanted to ask you guys. What do you think? And also, what model (retired or not) do you think is a great role model for young girls and women everywhere? This issue is probably one of the most talked about issues i know of. (Probably because here in America, we're as fat as ever Laughing

no offence to my wonderful country)

*and also, don't just say that your favorite model (whoever it may be) is the best role model. actually give a real answer. unless of course, your favorite model is a great role model*

Twiggy: Her anti-fur camaigns are inspiring. T would never wear real fur now. Bt that just my opinion.

Tyra Banks is obviously a role model, Seeing as all the things she's done ANTM, her talk show and her T-Zone camp.

Tyra is not a role model; unless if you think rigging competitions for people is rolemodel worthy.IMHO Crying or Very sad

Also I agree with Leelee, Tyra used to be a role model for me ... not for me directly just in my opinion. But now she has really thrown me with the favouritism she showed to Jaslene and Whitney in season 8 and now this as well with Saleisha ... that isnt something to be promoting xx

I think Tyra is a role model, despite what she has done regarding ANTM. She has helped aspiring models follow their dreams. (kinda). It has been said multiple times that ANTM is mostly about the experience, and less about who wins. Most of those girls probably walked out of the experience, knowing a great deal about what the industry is actually like.

I know I know they did it was a huge conspiracy ... lol I'm joking, I just didnt like Jaslene, I put her name there because I am pissed she won it ... but it is true she shows favouritism imho

Twiggy with her anti-fur campaigns and I guess Tyra Banks.. but she is really only a good role model for black women. As she says her entire modeling career was so she could prove that black women are beautiful too.
