i know this might sound pretty random but i thought alek wek was a pretty good role model. has anyone ever read her book? it's amazing what she went through and she's where she is now. she's done a lot of charity work...just a very charitable and considerate person altogether.
liya kebede is also a good role model. in fact her and alek are alike when it comes to charitable cuases.
i don't know about tyra, maybe she's a good role model because she's more popular and therefore more influential. i like the fact that she's outspoken and she doesn't give in to being skinny and all.

From what I see, the woman's naturally that thin. I like Alek Wek as well, her life was much better to read about then "I was shopping one day and got discovered by an agent" (she was discovered by someone but she went through a whole lot of crap before all that)

yeah not only did she have to go through a lot of crap before she got discovered, but even during her modeling career she was a target of racial profiling in the airport. she even got questioned several times and they didn't believe her when she said she was a model. it's kind of insulting. almost like saying "you're too ugly to model" or something.
