I disagree... I think Tyra's a good role model (:
She teaches girls that you don't have to be a size zero to be beautiful.
Gemma Ward also, in my opinion.
She recently gained alot of weight and still looks fantastic. She also seems so down-to-earth and friendly. She once stated, "Some girls get swept up in the lifestyle-clubbing and partying with celebrities. You can't live your life like that, though. It's fake."
Natalia Vodianova. Her discovery story was amazing.
Tiiu Kuik. I know that's random lol XD
Just in general, I guess. She just seems so down-to-earth and goofy! I love people with that sort of personality. She also seems intelligent, too. |

I dont think Natalia is a good role model for anyone unless you count her ruthless hunt for a rich husband as something which is to be emulated then ... yes.
I actually really like Tyra thought she is a bit dramatic.
Gemma Ward has a bare faced cheek saying some girls get caught up in it, lasttime I looked she was one of them. If she's out of it more power to her. I love her look, it took me a while to get my head around it but she is definitely beautiful, but an acquired taste xx ps. she didnt gain that much weight, it's a good amount of weight for a body like hers to be carrying. She lookes much better for it in my opinion, a thought which I think you may be in the opinion of too
I agree about Tiiu, in fact the Estonian models are all quite sweet, Carmen, Meeli, Claudia, Tiiu, I've only heard good and nice things about these models. xx |

I'm not exactly sure how much Gemma gained. But that photoshopped picture of her with the big legs was def. photoshopped... I saw the real video on youtube, and the comparison was ridiculous.
Recently though I've started to go off her a bit... my new favourite is Abbey Lee. I think she has a really quirky look. |

I disagree , I think Tyra is a good role model, with all the things she have accomplish, and all the things she had done for young women self esteem, and introducing the modeling and fashion industry to many girls.
You just can't say she isnt one Oh because of the result of ANTM.
I really look up to Tyra, she is the one who got me seriously into modeling, introducing ANTM. Learning more about the modeling and fashion industry through watchin the show, making me want to pursue a modeling career even more. Not just me, but i bet she has introduce it to alot of other young girls too. There are so many girls these days wanting to be supermodel. |

To me, she comes off as fake and manipulative, racist at times. I know it sounds bad and I'm not saying she is a bad person at all. I looked up to hwer with her stand against skinny models. But that all fell when she compared being "fat" (which she wasn't at all) to cancer. It all kinda fell through for me. |

i guess, i understand what you are saying about her all of suddenly want to stand up for the women with curve movement after she was called fat.
I guess, it didnt hit her until she experiences being called fat, and being made fun of because of her weight. So She knows how these women feel, and can relate because of that experience. I dont think she is fat, i think she is a good weight for someone her height, and age. |

And also, what model (retired or not) do you think is a great role model for young girls and women everywhere? This issue is probably one of the most talked about issues i know of. (Probably because here in America, we're as fat as ever no offence to my wonderful country)
*and also, don't just say that your favorite model (whoever it may be) is the best role model. actually give a real answer. unless of course, your favorite model is a great role model* |

I think the unarguable ones are:
- Twiggy. Anti-fur campaigns are amazing.
- Liya Kebede. She helps support her home country Ethiopia, she's a mother, and she still manages to look gorgeous without makeup.
I'll post more. I can't think of many others. But I do believe Tyra is a bit controversial. i still like her anyways. |
