Maybe it's just me, but I would love to see more attention paid to plus-size fashion models. It's true, they've only earned annual editorials in Vogue for three years, as well as a few appearances here and there in other magazines, but their commercial work is no worse than that of straight-size models. And although some have a mere lifestyle look, others actually have valid aesthetic credentials of their own.

The best site about them is probably:

www.judgmentofparis.com

Wouldn't anyone agree? I think some of the current fashions practically require a more womanly figure to give them real shape.

Yes please!

More fuller figured models and more women over 30, there's room for them all. We're all different ages, sizes and shapes - fashion's for everyone.

I believe that all of you are absolutely right! There's a shortage of representation of full-figured models out there, while the market for plus-size culture is swamped. In fact, I've submitted photos to a nearby agency and there's yet no response. I'm quite worried about the enlongated silence... I am very promising and will do hard work! Where's my limelight?

Well...I have no probs with either way...but why does it always have to be either "underweight" (yes, "normal" Models are underweight, no argueing with me please Wink ) or "overweight"...what about NORMAL? Hm. Or is that like...forbidden...like...why can't models be smaller than 5'10... Neutral

i honestly have to agree that there's room for the average shape and sized person in the fashion industry, it's just a shame that you don't get to see much of them Sad

I don't mind plus size being in Vogue as long as there is proper attire to suit each model type. And if there happens to be any nude photos you position yourself in the right angles, as should all models ( big or small)

Hey, at least fuller-figured models are getting SOME kind of attention. If you're short, especially TRUE petites, then you're pretty much on your own, unless you're a celebrity. Sometimes, I think the fashion industry just wants anyone under 5'4 to disappear.
