Maybe it's just me, but I would love to see more attention paid to plus-size fashion models. It's true, they've only earned annual editorials in Vogue for three years, as well as a few appearances here and there in other magazines, but their commercial work is no worse than that of straight-size models. And although some have a mere lifestyle look, others actually have valid aesthetic credentials of their own.
The best site about them is probably:
www.judgmentofparis.com
Wouldn't anyone agree? I think some of the current fashions practically require a more womanly figure to give them real shape. |

Yes please!
More fuller figured models and more women over 30, there's room for them all. We're all different ages, sizes and shapes - fashion's for everyone.

I believe that all of you are absolutely right! There's a shortage of representation of full-figured models out there, while the market for plus-size culture is swamped. In fact, I've submitted photos to a nearby agency and there's yet no response. I'm quite worried about the enlongated silence... I am very promising and will do hard work! Where's my limelight? |

Well...I have no probs with either way...but why does it always have to be either "underweight" (yes, "normal" Models are underweight, no argueing with me please ) or "overweight"...what about NORMAL? Hm. Or is that like...forbidden...like...why can't models be smaller than 5'10... |

i honestly have to agree that there's room for the average shape and sized person in the fashion industry, it's just a shame that you don't get to see much of them |

Hey, at least fuller-figured models are getting SOME kind of attention. If you're short, especially TRUE petites, then you're pretty much on your own, unless you're a celebrity. Sometimes, I think the fashion industry just wants anyone under 5'4 to disappear. |
