Confirmed September Cover Girls Include Jennifer Aniston and Hilary Swank, But Not Lindsay Lohan

The faces of September covers have pretty much been known for a while, but today WWD confirms the major ones — and they include the predictable batch of megawatt movie stars who always tend to get big covers. While Stefano Tonchi was thought to be considering Lindsay Lohan for September, he's now reportedly featuring relative unknowns and young Hollywood types like Emma Roberts and Zoë Kravitz. Vogue is yet to confirm Halle Berry for its September issue, but she's been the top rumored name for weeks. WWD's confirmed list:

Elle — Julia Roberts
Harper's Bazaar — Jennifer Aniston
InStyle — Hilary Swank (WWD helpfully notes: "her November Marie Claire cover was the title’s worst-selling issue of the year")

New Issues of V Lumped With Men’s Magazines and Porn on Newsstands [Updated]

God bless V for being perhaps the most European of American fashion magazines. Those editors are not afraid to do here what this country doesn't want them to do. If they want to flaunt sexy model breasts on their covers, they'll do it, cleverly concealed with only a scratch-off logo. So that means all that's between you Americans and those bare model breasts this country is so scared of is a coin and a plastic wrapping. However, some newsstands are categorizing this new issue, which has five racy covers you can turn nude with just the edge of a nickel, not as a fashion title, but as a men's-interest title. While it resides in the fashion section at Borders, Barnes & Noble has put it next to Maxim. And just beneath the porn.

On stands, the issue is covered in opaque plastic from the models' necks down. The breasts are perhaps less of a concern than Lily Donaldson's leopard heart-shaped underwear, which is too eerily reminiscent of Christina Aguilera's flashing vagina heart from the MTV Movie Awards.

Lady Gaga Rumored to Be Working on a Fragrance

The UK's Marketing magazine reports that Lady Gaga is working on an "unusual" fragrance with Coty, the same company that makes Sarah Jessica Parker and Kate Moss's scents. The perfume will reportedly come out for Christmas with a giant marketing campaign. Coty hasn't yet responded to our request for comment. However, whether the rumor is true or not, it allows us to seriously consider just what Lady Gaga smells like. We're guessing something with notes of pepper vodka and rubber cement. [Marketing UK]

Rumor: RVCA Dropped Erin Wasson Because She’s Difficult

Sources close to Erin Wasson's RVCA line claim RVCA dropped the model turned designer because she was so difficult to work with. "Total chaos and the epitome of unorganized" is how one person described Wasson's team. But if Erin Wasson's RVCA line really is finished, it's okay, because Rumi "Fashion Toast" Neely is now designing pieces for RVCA. And she models them in tanning booths even though they scare her. Christian Lacroix’s New Designer Wants to Do a Target or H&M Line

Christian Lacroix's new designer, Sacha Walckhoff, who now helms the label without Lacroix, is trying to pull the company out of debt and modernize it a bit. Lacroix's passion may have been couture, but that won't sustain a label nowadays. Many high-end designers looking to stay current and get a bunch of free mass marketing collaborate with mass retailers like Target. Walckhoff isn't opposed to the idea.

He told the Huffington Post:

Yes why not. Because its [sic] part of what I've been wanting: to get people to touch Lacroix at last. Brands like Target and H&M would be ideal for that. Of course, I won't do a couture dress for a mass retailer, but to do a small collection for one would be lovely. I'm open to it. Lacroix is luxury, but the brand's DNA, as the Spring 2011 collection shows, is about mixing the luxurious and the rough. This creates a large territory to play and craft something everyone could love.

Well, the key is not just love, it's afford. As the world saw, love wasn't enough to keep the label's Über-fancy stuff alive.
