(if you are wondering what I'm talking about check the other page, I mentioned domething about stones and such) |

Jasper is one of my favourites, Lapis is a nightmare to work with it's quite soft ... I like Tigers eye, but it's not very popular right now so I've not used it since I was in training. Emeralds and Tanzanite are my absolute favourite. Also brown diamonds set in yellow gold has a lovely effect.
I'm not really a fan of working in pearls to be honest, it's not my favourite xx but if made properly can be really nice |

Yeah. Tiger's eyes has been replaced with coloure glass around here. Emerald and Saphires are some of my favorites though not my #1. My absolute favorite would be my birth stone of course, Amethyst but its not as valuable since its a mix between quartz and magneseum. I'm such a rock geek. They're so pretty though how could you not be obsessed with them? |

That's pretty.
Do you like goldstone? Most of the time it looks so cheap but when its real its just so mezmerizing
Me and my friend would crack rock in two at our old school. There was a huge patch of assorted rocks. We weren't really allowed to do it but it was fun. There was a dusty brown one my and her found and it had crystals in it. She didn't give me the other half though. That bitch. |

Goldstone is really not a favourite ... I think it gets called fools gold over here ... and it is really pretty to look at but I've never worked with it, sorry ... oh wait, you know what I have at college, I have worked with Goldstone, it was for a ring assignment, we got to choose either a lapis cabochon or a goldstone Cabochon, I chose the goldstone, mainly because the measurements on it were really perfect, exact, no 3.2 or anything, as far as I can recall, all the better for making a setting up for it xx I had to be really careful with it cause last time I looked, it was a while ago, it wasnt that far up the Mohs Hardness scale, I think other people were chipping it with their files and stuff when finishing it off etc. |

Your job sound really fun. I'd like to do that sort of thing.
Yes I can imagine some like Goldston not being that hard. But that's for rock-geeks. Most people would call it hard. I don't know exactly what is hard and what is not. But sometimes you can tell just by looking at it. |
