Romanian gypsy band. "Carolina" is the song. "Taraf de haidouks" = "band of thieves", playing on the stereotype of gypsies being untrustworthy thieves.

Django Reinhardt is a pretty famous guitarist... We was very good apparently, but I don't know much about him.
A gypsy punk band. "60 Revolutions" is the song. "Gogol Bordello" = "Gogol Brothel", as a reference to Nikolai Gogol (YAY!!) who 'smuggled' Eastern European culture into North America. Also, the band are known for extremely raucous shows that are usually, if not always 18+ and feature heavy use of beer and other things. |
