Hi Britney,

I'm no expert regarding model agencies, but that doesn't seem right to me, I don't see why they should expect you to pay.
I'm sure someone else here at FMD will be able to give you some sound advice.
I hope it all works out for you - you look absolutely gorgeous!

Kind regards,

deebee Wink

Reputable model agencies never, ever require a downpayment from an upcoming model to represent them.
Period.
If they ask for any money under any pretex they are scamming you and don't really believe in your potencial as a model ... they simply want to cash in on your hopes and dreams. If a model agency is seriously commited to represent and manage your career they *invest* in you and work on a percentage for any job you get. This percentage varies from agency to agency and there is no set rule but generaly the highest amount is 35% of what the client pays you.

Bottom line is: never pay the agencies, they pay you! Otherwise your setting yourself up for some serious dissapointment.

Send your pics out to other canadian agencies, even those across country, and see what kind of feedback you receive. And remember: at least include one facial shot and one fullbody shot in a bikini or fitted shorts and top. Both of which sans makeup. This is a standard requirement from any good agency.

What exactly are they asking you to pay for? There shouldn't be any costs in advance.
