Great advice!! Though i think almost all jobs/careers nowadays will have mean/bitchy people who are cruel to the other people....and not just modelling!!

Sorry to double post, but I feel I must say this to the model hopefuls:

If you really want to be a model, you would actually do more than ask people who are on the internet and not even pros (this includes my opinions, I am not an agency owner or a client). Whether you were praised or dissed over here, if you REALLY want it then you would visit an agency local or internation yourself. It is not such a pain to research possible agencies, it's all there.

If you feel downcast because people say you can't model and just let it go, then you don't really want it like you say so. Unless it's something factual, like you really are too short.

Someone who's determined enough to join this industry will actually do more than post on this forum, which is mainly meant to be for fun.

Here's a few tips for some of you who will e-mail submissions or attend an open call:

- Keep your natural hair color and a natural haircut. Don't get all Agyness on me. show up to an agency with green highlights or a spiky mohawk is a BAD idea. DON'T DYE YOUR HAIR. Clients/maybe agents dye your hair not you.

- Keep your natural brows. Don't pluck them, maybe except the noticeable excess hairs below your actual brow.

- KNOW THE INDUSTRY. Know designers, models, makeup artists, and photographers.

- You do not choose your client. Unless you are like... Giselle, your client chooses you.

- face it. You must be photogenic (not necessarily pretty but look good in photos). There are people gorgeous in person but not in pictures. Those won't make it.

- TALL a concept that some don't care for but it IS a big deal, and your body needs to be lanky. Not necessarily crazy thin, just long legs and arms, long torso, which some tall people don't have.

- It's cutthroat industry. You have to be confident and you cant lose to your emotions. It's like being a lawyer, you can't let emotions control you or you lose the case- Your emotions make you weak. Same concept.

- Don't do fad diets. they never work.

- If you are hurt by rejection, think of it as experience. It's a world of rejection. Nobody became superhot overnight.

- If you choose modeling over education, make sure you know what to do after your done modeling. My agent didn't want me in New York at this age after noticing I take school really seriously. She was wise to do so.

If you want to model you HAVE to get signed. Nobody here can tell you what you can or cannot do. And frankly, getting signed is the easy part. you have to also GET JOBS.

Sometimes being a model just isn't worth it.
