Honestly those guidelines don't help.

they might if people actually followed them...
they should have meetings talking about expoilting the models and how the industry basically crosses over into prostitution..

it seems like when theyre just talking about the weight issue
like, i dont know, there's so much MORE going on and theyre focusing on this one (it seems) smaller side of it

It's just like don't let 16 year olds work past midnight...No one will check ID.

If you suspect a model has an eating disorder help her out and tell her agency...if that girl is getting famous or already is they won't say anything.

so what do you guys think
is the fame really worth it?

models are like the definition of 'overworked but under-paid"

Yep, it's definitely messed up. In many ways.

I'm not sure if it's worth the fame, though.

I don't think it is. Plus, they don't get paid THAT much.

It beats your self esteem down so much. You always have pressure on you to be skinny and pretty and better than the next model and to stay and look young and to be up to date with fashion and try not to get old. Too much pressure on such young girls. It's sad.

But it's hard to detect an eating disorder in someone that you see only a few hours of a day especially considering that as a disease of the brain the person suffering is almost always very secretive and highly trained in keeping their secret ... a secret. and with such a condition they will begin to correlate their success with their 'illness' which believe me they will not see as an illness but rather a mechanism for success or even a lifestyle, so getting someone to see that they have this illness is very difficult indeed, especially because it's a state of the mind

sorry i just had to say that Cool

Apparently as I heard, the agency that's the worst at keeping ridiculously thin girls sick is Women. and Paris runways want 32 inch waist models! Its just wrong.
