Don't laugh, but does anyone know how to properly pronounce these?
1) Liya Kebede (LIE-uh Kuh-BEED or LEE-uh Keh-BEED?)
2) Givenchy (Jih-VOHN-shee or Guy-VOHN-shay?)
3) Moschino (Mah-SKEE-no?)
4) Tiiu Kiuk (Tee-YOU Quick or Too Quick?) |

1) I know her first name is LEE-uh as I watched a show on TV featuring her... not sure of the last name though, sorry.
4) I read in a magazine that her name is pronounced Tee-yoo Quick. |

According to the American Heritage dictionary, the name is pronounced as Gah-vin-chee. |

Thank you, guys (girls). I was making Givenchy more complicated than it really was. I had heard other people pronounce it to sound more "French", so I thought I had it wrong. Anyway, thanks! |

Hi heather and Coralfang,
This evening Tiiu Kiuk spoke to the cameras on 'Fashion TV' and pronounced her first name as "TEE-YOU" so that's official.
Sadly she never pronounced her surname, my guess is that it sounds the same as "QUICK" as you both have suggested.

#1 Is it sure that it's Kebede and not Kedebe? In France I've always seen them write Kedebe.
#2 In France it's pronounced à la Français: Ji-van-shee
#3 Mos-kee-no |

It depends: if it's spelled following the portuguese phonetic rules, or not. Who knows? |
