Say someone decides to branch out and create clothes SPECIFICALLY for petite and average heighted women and he/she asks that all models be between 5'5 and 5'7 (or even smaller). Will this designer be considered an outcast by others? Surely, there'll be lots of media attention! |

Ha! Didn't think anyone would reply to this! I guess this is something that the fashion industry is afraid/does not want to address, which I think is sad. If this continues, petite women will always be considered "cute" or at most "pretty." Glamourous? Elegant? Don't think so! Not if we can't fit into clothes the way you want to! |

I've seen petites wearing haute couture dresses...may be that's why I don't foresee a great market for specifically small-sized clothes. |

But Zyk, most of these dresses have either been altered or designed specifically to fit an individual. I'd like to see something out there where someone who is petite or average height can get off the rack without changing anything. Again, while criticism of the fashion industry being "sizest" against women over size 14, NO ONE addresses the fact that this industry is also sizest against those who are under 5'4. THIS NEEDS TO CHANGE! |

So if you're sure the market will respond positively, go ahead, but I'm afraid it won't "happen". Most want dresses of "fame" even if too big or altered... |

It'll happen if I have a good publicist (actually, I AM a publicist) and if I throw enough temper tantrums. People just don't understand, do they? |
