I myself have never really felt the pressure to be thin... I mean I'm super tall and everyone is always assuming that I'm like a size 0 or something... but I know I could honestly never be THAT skinny. I mean, I weigh 54-55 kilos which is probably too thin (but "fat" for a model) for a normal person. I don't feel like I have to be at that weight just because its on trend or whatever.
How about you |

Well , sometimes, I do feel like I have to be as thin as model, because I'm aspiring model, and i would love to be in the fashion/modeling industry, if not that then the entertainment business.
So I feel if i want to give modeling a try, then I feel I gotta be around the same size as the models, just for an agency to take a look at me.
But I never dieted, or did any extreme exercise routines to be my size, because Im just natural very thin, compare to normal people around my age and height. |

Pressure??? only from myself lol I'm genetically blessed. If anything I feel pressure to gain weight.
I know the pressure to be thin is a major thing and I know a lot of people who do feel such a pressure. My Step Daughter said she wanted to be skinny like me when she was older and I sort of cringed I'd rather she aspired to having a masters like me or something like that or being a professional like her dad but ... to aspire to be skinny ... I think thats the problem. Girls need to be encouraged to have higher aspirations in their lives ... a neo-feminist revolution please.
I feel like women have stood still since the first feminist movement thinking that it was something that had been done, it's over now. And it isnt I feel women have reverted into a world where once again they are starving themselves to be appealing the eyes of men Germaine Greer would scream! lol I scream when I hear a girl say I need to be skinny cause the boys wont fancy me or I need to have long hair or I cant get spots or (I know most of us do it hygenic and stuff) i need to shave my legs and things like that to be appealing to men. Its what all the advertising is driven at. You watch an advert and it is subtly telling you buy this spot cream or the boys wont fancy you.
I think rake thin actresses are more of a problem than the rake thin models to be honest. Actresses are supposed to look real and aspirational for the young girls because they see them acting out the life situations that they perhaps will encounter. If that actress has straight white teeth, long blonde hair, blue eyes and wears a size 4 in a dress, then that isnt reality. They are being told subtly that in life this is what healthy people should look like
Sorry for the long post and I am aware its a rambling post also ... I just think the pressure is not to be thin but in actual fact the pressure to be appealing to the opposite sex, which this all stems from anyway xxx |
