so im going to an open call at Ford, and right now im 5'9 and 130 lbs. i know i have to lose weight and all, but should i wait until i lose like 10 lbs and THEN go to the open call, or would they focus on other things apart from weight? like would it completely turn them off from me if i was a little bigger or would they still give me a chance?
and what kind of clothes should i wear? plain, or sort of in my 'style'?
ANY help would be appreciated |

What are your measurements? That helps more than weight. Wear something simple. |

They are okay but if you feel you must lose more weight. Just do it in a healthy way. |

It's completely up to you If you feel you must lose weight, then do so. Just don't go on an extreme diet or anything... though I'm sure you wouldn't. Like diorelle said, do it the healthy way!
Wear something nice but not overdone...
Oh, and good luck! |

Try going in your normal weight, and if they ask you to then lose it. Most agencies will ask you to lose weight if they are interested in you. If they arent that means even if you lost the weight they likely wouldn't be.
clothes should be simple, form-fitting, and still pretty stylish. |

I agree with Jenny you don't need to lose weight before you go if the agency
likes you they will tell you to do so. I know this from experience I am a
model and when i started they scouted me and told me to lose about 15
pounds I was around 130 pounds. It is true that it is not so much the weight
but rather the measurements the average model needs to have hips no
larger than 34-35 inches a waist of 23-25 inches and a bust of 32-34 inches
but it all depends on your body. Seeing as you are on the rather short side
for models you would probably need to have the smaller side of the
measurements. If you don't mind me asking how old are you? Lastly
concerning what you should where go very simple they don't want to see
personal style they want a blank canvas they can mold in to what every
they want..Also which city are you going to ford in because this advice is for
the new york market..Hope it helps |

If this is for Ford NY, I think you have to be in your best shape. If you are 15 lbs more than what they need, whey will not consider you. Each week there are so many people attending open calls, so it so much easier for them to get a right model and push her to the market right away, instead of waiting for someone to loose weight. |

Crystal Renn was not the weight they needed when she was discovered and they wanted her anyways. Same with Ali (she mentioned it in some interview with I think teen vogue) Then asked the girls to lose the weight. Although many attend open calls, an agency can see what they need even if they don't like the weight.
It's easily up to manipulateher though, you're the one attending. I think either way could go. If you do lose weight do it a healthy way. |

Have you ever stepped into any NY agency and had a chance to see girls who come for the open calls? |
