Hi guys!

Here in Australia there has been a news item about a girl named Claire Quick, a 12 year old girl chosen to be the face of Gold Coast Fashion Week.

Obviously, it has caused a stir, due to her young age. Academics say she's being exploited and that kids need to be kids, etc.

Anyway, I was wondering about everyone's thoughts on young fashion models? I know that around the world, the British Fashion Council has recommended a crackdown on underage models at London Fashion Week and that several fashion festivals in Europe have already banned models under 16.

I think 12 years of age is far too young (unless of course she is modelling children's clothing).
Personally I've always preferred the more mature model and for that matter also the fuller figured woman to today's very young waifs. That said there certainly are some gorgeous looking models around these days.

Do you think that regulations against underage models (and models with below-average BMIs) will mean that we will see more relatively mature and curvier models in fashion shows?

12 far too young. 14(if the girl is mature) to 16 years old is a good starting point.

There was also that 12 year-old chick who won last year, Maddison Gabriel. The Prime Minister started ranting on about how young she was lol. She also won the Goldcoast Fashion Week.
