I prefer seeing models on the cover of fashion magazine.
I feel actors are taking models jobs by doing this.
This is making it harder for models to get jobs when actors usually on the cover of the magazine. |

hmm... it depends. If a magazine has crappy choices on cover-ladies, *cough cough, Cosmogirl* then I will definitely choose models. And anyways, how horrid would it be to see someone like Paris Hilton attempt to grace the cover of Vogue? *blech!*
But if it's someone like... I don't know, extremely respected and well-rounded i.e. Natalie Portman, it could be a decent choice. especially for teen mags, where girls need decent idols.
It all should come to how intellectual the cover person is and how well they can project their values.
In terms of high-fashion wayyy up there things though, like Vogue or Harper's Bazaar, models definitely take my vote. Actresses can have their share of fun in films.
so after a pointless ramble, I'd say for teen mags, it's arguable. For high fashion mags, models. |

I blame the editors as much for the problem of actresses being put on the covers more often than models.
The BS logic that actresses are what sell magazines is nothing more than that. I would think fashion industry in general has more potential for creativity than it likes the public to think. Putting Hollywood on the cover is just nothing more than laziness of the part of editors and designers.
Why does it take a hyped movie or headline for designers to get some attention to their products? The same for editors?
Yes it may get attention and someone will buy products and magazines based on the choice of what actress they use but that is an admission to a lack of ideas. These same people insult the public when in their defense they say that they sell more if they use Angelina Jolie or Kate Hudson. That's not an absolute truth. There has to be a balance between both fashion and Hollywood. It doesn't help when Hollywood hype and controversial tabloid headlines become the driving forces for a designer or editor to sell more.
Models do have their place. It's only fair that they have a bigger role in the covers and in the advertisements. Their careers involve advertising and projecting a fantasy or concept into whatever they wear and represent be it on a runway, editorial page, or advertinsing. Actresses and SO-CALLED media *whores/personalities* only bring ugly baggage. Paris Hilton being on the cover of French Vogue was just a low point, especially since the magazine ranked right up there with Italian Vogue as a leader and tastemaker for the fashion media. American fashion magazines have become an insult to the industry it supposedly depends on to supply inspiration. The knife cuts both ways though, designers and cosmetic companies have also contributed to the problem. They seem to think using Charlize Theron and Drew Barrymore to sell their products makes for good sales. Well, from what I could see the public is starting to get tired of Hollywood and the hype machine spewing out tabloid style fame.
I used to respect the fashion industry. Now, I can't tell the difference between Milan and Hollywood. The magazines will still continue to put actesses not worth a snot on their covers. The models will still be put on the backburner and fashion will become even more boring. It's time for a wakeup call to the editors and designers otherwise they can and should expect less buying and more cancellation on subscriptions.
Anna Wintour deserves her reputation:
"She has the ability to go through editorialships as though they were brick wall leaving behind a ragged hole and a whiff of Chanel."
American Vogue is not what it used to be, and that's a damm shame. |

Charlize Theron is damn ugly. I'm sorry, but that really needed to be said lol. I honestly dont get what guys find so appealing about her. Shes a crappy actress, did a horrible job in NeonFlux or whatever it was with her and that black bob haircut she got. She is NOT the most beautiful women in the world either. |

It's a shame that magazines with celebrities on it sell more than magazines with models on it. But I suppose if you see a familiar face on a magazine, you'll buy it....and most models are unknown to people who are not in the industry. |

I am tired from Jessica Alba, Lindsay Lohan, Eva Longoria and other similar untalented girls who are on every cover of American magazines or even worse - top 100 of Maxim, askmen.com, Stuff and other trashy mags. |
